Oh ~ happy day! Capital Design Days got off to a great start yesterday at the DC Design Center.
I finally got to meet the talented and ever so charming Eddie Ross and his partner Jaithan Kochar.
I know, I know. The shoes alone were enough to make me swoon.
Eddie gave a great demonstration on how to style rooms for photography. He stressed the importance of using a good photographer, natural light and ”adding a layer of imperfection” (this includes dogs and kids). His mantra is “When in doubt, style simply”. Props should make sense and suggest a relaxed, welcoming ambience – doors and windows flung open, pillows a bit rumpled (but not too) and lots of loose floral arrangements.
Capital Design Days continues through Thursday, April 14 when most programs will be open to the public.

Eddie is a great talent. What fun to see your report.
So fun meeting you at WDCDC. Huge fan of Eddie’s work. I always learn so much from him! ps: cant seem to find your email, i need to send you the pic of you on the chair. you look beautiful.

Wow..what a gig…a test drive in Palm Beach! Project in Georgetown this morning-in bloom…so pretty. Meandered into Restoration Hardware…interesting. Don’t know if u know the backstory and drama behind their new “look”. Washington loves neutrals… don’t quite get the leap to hugely large-scaled stuff though. Thought the McMansion thing was dying down. Maybe not. Doing a little blog post on all that soon.
U should think about joining us for NYC and Kips Bay…April 28- May 26…Really a blast. Design Center should be sponsoring an “event”– up on train, lunch..etc. Will keep u posted.
So nice meeting you. Love this social media stuff, in moderation of course. My email: jeankee@earthlink.net ; )
